The O3 Network are working closely with experts in their fields to ensure that the O3 Network reflects the needs and requirements of the business community. Initiatives such as the iPhone App, smart phone conversant website & utilising an online booking system are all ways we are working to ensure we are acquainted with contemporary business needs & equally reversing our decision to be fully automated in favour for a more customer service approach are ways that we listen to our clients and their needs & wants.

In 2011 The O3 Network launched of one of the largest surveys conducted into Queensland businesses to research ‘How Queenslanders are doing business’. The survey has been highlighted as a crucial tool in understanding how businesses are operating today, acknowledging the rise of home based businesses and telecommuters. We know we live in one of the best places in the world & lifestyle is ranked highly amongst us Queenslanders; but are we achieving the balance between work and lifestyle? And how do we compare with the rest of the world?

The O3 Network is affiliated with the ‘Australian Institute of Human Development’ and its founder Dr Angela Huntsman has been instrumental in the notion of ‘Head Space’ for the business since day one of the O3 Network. With a wealth of expertise into organisational psychology, Dr Huntsman pioneered the O3 business survey and working closely with our team to ensure our ethos and growing network & services are in line with the business community’s needs.

Business Survey

Continuing our association with the Australian Institute of Human Development, The O3 Network untook a Queensland wide survey into ‘How Queenslanders are doing business’ and to uncover contemporary business trends.

• Has smart phone technology & remote server connections, effected the way we do business?
• How are businesses overcoming the distance between its regions?
• Where is the majority of work being conducted?
• Where are meetings taking place?
• Have technological advances allowed more people work remotely?

Result findings:
Queensland has long been a magnet for people seeking the ultimate lifestyle, but new survey results released about the way Queenslanders are choosing to live and work, show the are demanding access to high tech facilities and equipment to do business and that a significant amount (50%) work remotely.

The survey canvassed over 450 business owners and employees across Queensland.
An overwhelming 86% of respondents said they thought Queensland was indeed the best place in the country to live and work, with 47% of respondents  being business owners and the remainder being part time or full time employees.

49% of respondents said they had lived their whole lives in Queensland and of those who were not originally from Queensland said it was climate (31.8%) or lifestyle (36.1%) that brought them here.  50% of respondents worked in small business (1-5 individuals) while 36% were home based businesses.

Johnson says despite the misconception that Queenslanders can be slow to adopt new technologies and innovations; the survey proves that Queenslanders are indeed tech-savvy and are seeking access to high tech facilities and equipment to conduct their business.

"Its clear from the survey results that Queenslanders places of work vary greatly - from Home based business, to on the road, remotely (connected to the office via the internet), collaboratively, serviced offices and more. There has perhaps never been such a diversity of work place situations and it is important that we take time to identify and cater to them".

The survey also provides candid insights about what Queenslanders value in their business, listing work/lifestyle balance, professional image and reputation and high speed internet as some of the more important qualities in their business as well as the facilities they regularly require such as WIFI (56%), Hot-spots (29%), meeting space (31%) and data projectors (24.3%).
